| Bio: | "True, I can fly at Mach-50 without effort and emit regenerative energy when I touch my brother, but mostly that's behind me." --Jeanne-Marie ![]() PLAYER INFORMATION: Player Name: Khush Age: 29 Contact Information: condemned.knight[at]yahoo.com, condemnedknight2 AIM Timezone: EST CHARACTER INFORMATION: Character Name/Aliases (if any): Jeanne-Marie Beaubier Age: 25 Codename: Aurora Affiliation: Independent Modern Character or 1960s Reality-based Character: 1960's Character Personality: Due to an abusive childhood and her mental disorder not being much understood, even ignored at the time and, as a result, causing her to be punished more, Jeanne-Marie has developed multiple personalities (dis-associative identity disorder) and schizophrenia. Her primary personality, the Jeanne-Marie one, is that of an introverted, reserved, and repressed woman. Speaks mainly French or heavily accented English. Aurora Personality (Two): A second personality of an uninhibited extrovert. Fluent in both French and English. Personality Three: Likes fine wines, horse racing, and casual ultra-violence. Has an uppish haughty attitude. Personality Four: A weekend goth, who occasional self-harms, and has an inexplicable aversion to shellfish. Believes itself to be a male. Personality Five: Likes sports activities, photography, and is an amateur paleontologist (someone who studies prehistoric life). Spoke only in French. Believes itself to be a 12 year old. Personality Six: Likes opera, gardening, and creationist literature. Personality Seven: Likes graffiti, mild S&M, and gambling. Personality Eight (Bane): Is reckless and is a committed masochist. Fluent in English, French, and religious uses of Latin. Like many people with the disorder, when Jeanne-Marie reverts back from one to the other, she has no memory of the previous personality's doings. With years of a stable environment after leaving the hyper-religious school, however, she settled into her first and second personalities, and remains there most of the time, only switching to the more extreme variants during times of intense fear, despair, or severe stress. History: Jeanne-Marie was born in Canada on February 15, 1938, five minutes before her twin brother, Jean-Paul, to Jean-Baptiste Beaubier and his wife, Adrienne. Tragically, Jeanne-Marie’s parents were killed in a car crash while she and her brother were still infants, and Adrienne’s cousin, Louis and Genevieve Martin adopted the orphaned twins. However, the burden of taking on two infants proved to be too great for the Martins, and they were forced to give up Jeanne-Marie. Hoping to still give her the best care available, the Martins gave baby Jeanne-Marie to a Catholic all girls’ boarding school in Quebec (Madame Dupont's school for girls, with Headmistress Soeur Anne) where she was raised in a hyper-religious atmosphere. Due to the strict upbringing she was given, Jeanne grew into an extremely introverted young girl, nervous and repressed, even suicidal. In fact, it was during an attempt at suicide that her mutant powers of flight first manifested. About to jump to her death from the roof of the school, she was saved by her mutation and, believing her flight to be a divine gift from God and an answer to her prayers, and feeling that this manifestation could finally give her a purpose for her life, Jeanne-Marie quickly went to tell her teachers. However, the nuns did not share her beliefs that her powers were divinely bestowed, and believed her instead to be possessed by a devil. She was inhumanely disciplined because of her confession, and it was from this that her first alter-personality emerged. The new personality was almost a polar opposite of her primary one, being extroverted, uninhibited, and fun-loving. For years afterwards, Jeanne went between the two personalities, never remembering, when she reverted back to her primary, what had occurred in the time between. Because the disorder was not well understood in the 40’s, she was punished even more severely for the things that she had done or said, and for appearing to lie when asked about it later and claiming to not remember. The constant abuse, including regular exorcisms performed on her by the priests, blossomed more personalities from her abused psych, each one a splinter of her core being that revealed, to the extremes, traits she may have acquired normally, had she not been so abused or mistreated. In total, eight completely separate personalities emerged from her mind, each with its own unique identity. As each personality became manifest, Jeanne-Marie began losing track of what was real and what was fake, often seeing things that weren’t there, which only caused more discipline from the strict abusive nuns. Her hallucinations and paranoia were a result of her schizophrenia that developed because of her environment and social isolation. Again, her mental disorder was not understood and she continued to be punished for all of her abnormalities. Even her pointy ears, according to the nuns, were a sign of the devil, and must be purged from her. When she was 18 and graduated from the school, Jeanne-Marie was still closely watched by the nuns who still believed her to be possessed. However, her second personality took her away from their influence and she got a job teaching elementary children. Years of this stable and independent environment helped to reign in the other personalities and lessen the effects of her schizophrenia. She still had boughs of delusion and sometimes would ‘wake up’ or come back to her usual personality, the second one, not knowing where she was or what sort of circumstance she was in. She learned to use her mutant abilities to escape those situations, and even put her abilities into practice to protect herself and others, saving her classroom full of kids from a fire at the school she worked at. The recent reconnection with the long lost twin brother she didn’t know existed has affected her to her core, impacting all of her personalities. No matter which is on the surface, each personality knows Jean-Paul to be her brother. Her subsequent move to New York City to be closer to her twin has stirred up her other personalities again, and she is more frequently being moved between them. Powers & Special Abilities: Gestalt Photokinesis: Should she link hands with Northstar, they could generate a light equivalent to a lighthouse beacon (one million foot candles) by each sibling’s varying the rate of acceleration of his or her own molecules out of phase with those of the other's. Photokinesis: can generate from her body a bright white light equivalent at maximum intensity to half million-foot candles. She does so by varying the rate of acceleration of the molecules of her body out of phase with one another, thereby generating a cascade of photonic discharges. Calming Light: ability to send out a calming light that the target feels emotions and memories that make them at peace. It can even be used to break telepathic control. Concussive Blasts: ability to send out powerful concussive blasts that can do considerable damage. She can project these from her hand and out from her body in a series of concussive bursts. Lightning: ability to project lighting blasts with devastating results. Superhuman Speed: possesses the ability to propel her body at superhuman speed, becoming a living projectile. Through an act of concentration, Aurora can channel a portion of the kinetic energy of the atomic motion in her body’s molecules in a single direction. This can accelerate her body in a velocity in direct proportions to the amount of kinetic energy she has tapped. It was once theoretically possible for her to reach 99% of the speed of light (186, 272 miles per second in a vacuum), although she never traveled at anywhere near that speed since if she did, she would wreak great damage upon herself and her environment. Aurora can also move a portion of her body at superhuman speed at a time. She normally only moves up to speeds roughly the speed of sound (about 770 miles per hour at sea level). Molecular Acceleration: ability to accelerate the molecules within an inanimate object or a living being by touch, causing the target to tear itself apart from the subsequent stress generated upon it. Heightened Reflexes: possesses reflexes far above the average human. Reflexes are so advanced that she can go through an entire apartment, checking all the rooms and taking out the survivors in just mere seconds. Flight: ability to propel herself through the air. To hover in mid-air Aurora applies thrust downward in a carefully controlled manner. When carrying another, unprotected human being aloft, Aurora does not move faster than 60 miles per hour in order that her "passenger" may be able to breathe easily (Aurora herself can breathe at somewhat higher rates due to training) and so that the "passenger" will not suffer harm from wind, friction, or air turbulence. Accelerated Metabolism: possesses a boosted metabolism that can be used to heal wounds quickly. Enhanced Durability: as a side effect of partially robbing her molecules of their atomic motion, the binding forces within and between the molecules increase. This enhances the sheer toughness of Aurora's entire body. This effect gives her skin enough durability to withstand the ravages of wind, friction and air turbulence. G-Force Compensation: ability to use her super speed to automatically compensate for any G-Force difference. from Marvel Wikia Other: ![]() ![]() PB: Megan Fox | ||||||||||
